Today the Goldman Sachs Managing director Jonathan Egol testified for the entire day. He was very careful and deliberate,  a complete contrast to the previous witness Paolo Pellegrini, who gave quite a performance on the witness stand.

On Thursday, Matthew Martens, a lawyer for the SEC, chipped away at Mr. Tourre's defense through a series of questions he asked Jonathan Egol. Mr. Egol worked alongside Mr. Tourre at the Goldman trading desk that structured and marketed the transaction central to the regulator's civil complaint.
